FCC Chairman Pai Scores a Victory for the Rural Health Care Program

On June 6, 2018, Chairman Pai circulated a draft Order proposing an increase in funding for the Rural Health Care Program by $171M, bringing total annual funding to $571M. Yesterday, the FCC announced that the draft Order received majority support by the other Commissioners. In a Program that has been plagued with pro rata funding reductions and delays over the past two years, this additional funding increase, which is effective for the current funding year, brings welcome relief to our nation’s rural health care providers.
